 Our highlight paper on "Dawn of Calcium Batteries", was accepted by Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Congrats to Kevin! A sweet appetizer for the upcoming group Thanksgiving party! 

191114 Leo attended 2019 Scialog Conference on Advanced Energy Storage in Tucson, AZ. Met with many friends and great fun to write a two page proposal. 

191107 Leo attended the 2019 Fall user proposal board meeting in the Molecular Foundry at LBL and gave an invited talk on energy storage. A great pleasure to meet up friends and collaborators!

191104 Our paper "An Efficient Viologen-Based Electron Donor to Nitrogenase", was accepted as a communication paper by ACS Biochemistry. It is a collaborative project with Lance group. Congratulations to both groups!

190730 Bo and Jian's manuscript on the synthesis and application of ammonium anthraquinone anolytes for metal free, pH neutral redox flow batteries was accepted by ACIE as a full research article (our 3rd paper accepted in July!!) Congratulations to Bo and Jian for this nice work, well done! 190715 Kevin's work on the synthesis of redox active MOFs was accepted by Inorganic Chemistry. Congratulations to Kevin for his 1st 1st-authored paper! [Link]

190701 Our manuscript on the CoS/CoS2 heterojunction electrocatalyst promoting the performance of sulfur redox flow batteries was accepted by Nature Communications [Link]. It was also among the editor selected NC Focus on Energy Materials [Link]. Congratulations to all co-authors!

190531 Our ACS EL paper on electrochemical N2 reduction reaction (ENRR) was highlighted by an ACS EL Energy Focus. [Link]. It was an interview report between the Journal of ACS EL and Leo Liu, and two other experts on ENRR,  Lauren Greenlee from University of Arkansas, and Douglas MacFarlane from Monash University.  

190522  Our Mg-FPB electrolyte was highlighted by ChemistryViews [Link]. Also a cover at ACIE [Link].

190410 Bo's paper entitled "Electrochemical Nitrogen Reduction to Ammonia by Mo2N: Catalysis or Decomposition?" was accepted as an Energy Express paper by ACS Energy Letters! Congratulations to Bo and other co-authors. [Link]

Our 2nd ChemRxiv preprint was submitted for Bo's NRR work entitled "Electrochemical Nitrogen Reduction to Ammonia by Mo2N: Catalysis or Decomposition?" [Link]

190308 Two papers were accepted by J. Mater. Chem. A and Dalton Trans. on the same day. Our JMCA paper entitled "A 1.51 V pH Neutral Redox Flow Battery towards Scalable Energy Storage" was also selected as one of 2019 JMCA Hot Papers. Congratulations to Jian, Wenda, and other co-authors. Check it out here [Link].

190211 We submitted our 1st preprint to ChemRxiv on "A Stable, Non-corrosive Perfluorinated Pinacolatoborate Mg Electrolyte for Rechargeable Mg Batteries". [Link]

190209 Our Joule paper was exclusively highlighted by a Joule Preview entitled "Return of the Iron Age" by Prof. Ulrich Schubert from Friedrich Schiller University Jena (Germany) [Link].

190205 Leo received the NSF career award! What a graceful and timely🧧 red packet to my group during the Chinese 🐷 New Year! The credit goes to all of the hard-working and bright students, postdocs, and visiting
scholars (current and past) in my group.
